Suja – Meaning “Long Beautiful Life”
I’m telling you now . . . I HATE to juice!!! I probably started juicing way before I changed my eating habits and eliminated processed foods. I think it was for my 50th Birthday that I treated myself to a Jack Lalanne Juicer!!!
I have a love/hate relationship with juicing. Juicing cost me a fortune and that was just for the ingredients!!! It took about $50 worth of fruits and veggies (okay – maybe a little exaggerated! NOT!) to make an 8 ounce cup of juice!!! The prep was tedious and boring having to cut everything up to fit the spout! There was so much pulp left over that wound up getting thrown out (nope – I do not know how to compost!) And clean-up was a B&%*CH! So like many other kitchen equipment pieces I own – this wound up in the abyss in the garage. I bring it out sometimes to use and then I’m reminded again of why I don’t juice. So back into the abyss it goes!
Around 6 months ago, I was in the produce department of my local grocery store when I saw these really cool looking juice bottles that caught my eye! Suja!!
The different colors from the juices drew me in. The names and the description were amazing! They claimed to be organic and “cold-pressed”. The list of ingredients were better yet! I knew each and every ingredient on that bottle. There were no preservatives added for a longer shelf life. And the price was AFFORDABLE! I had to try one! But how do they taste! Since they were on sale that day, I think I bought six! And never looked back!!!
I love sharing things that I discover on my living raw journey whether it be recipes, books, videos, product or in this case . . . juice!!! What I especially love about Suja is that they’re “affordable” and “accessible”. I found them in Publix which is my neighborhood grocery store. Publix is located in six southern states so if you have a Publix near you, hopefully they stock Suja. Publix is always running a 2/1 sale on Suja!
I also found Suja in my local Super Walmart. The prices were amazing! They were so good that I thought perhaps, that the juice’s expiration date had expired! But that was not the case. The “Sell By” date was still 6 weeks away! I always stock up there!
I even found Suja in my local Whole Foods but it was priced way above my comfort level so I did not buy it there. Too bad. So sad! 🙁 However, to be fair, the bottles were larger consisting of 14.5 ounces as compared to the 12 ounces I usually buy.
To find out if Suja is in your area, visit their website Sujajuice.com. While you’re there, read about their company and philosophy and see what products they create! And if Suja is not in your location – push for one! And if that does not work, order their juice directly from their website and have it shipped straight to your door.
If you like juice, but hate juicing I truly recommend you try at least one bottle of Suja. My all time favorite flavors are:
Daybreak Probiotic. It’s such a refreshing drink. It’s actually a “revved” up Lemonade with added probiotic and a kick of cayenne! Everyone in my family loves this one! Then I usually have on hand Noon Greens, Sweet Beets ( I LOVE beets and the health benefits of beets!) and finally Twilight Protein!
So, if you like juice but hate “juicing” as I do, you owe it to yourself to try Suja! Once you do, I’m curious what you think about it so feel free to leave a comment below. I hope you like it as much as I do!
